When I discovered air fryers last year, I felt like I’d discovered some secret life hack no one else knew about. They cook your food as fast as a microwave, but without all the weird micro waves and things microwaves do. They work as well as an oven, but cook food faster. Furthermore, if you use a non-toxic one, they emit far fewer VOCs than an oven. On top of all that, you can use your air fryer as a dehydrator to preserve fruits and vegetables without having to invest in another device or leave your huge, energy-inefficient, and fume-generating oven on for hours on end (read till the end for my top pick on a non-toxic air fryer based on at least 100 hours of research and trials.)
An air fryer is to your kitchen like Human Design (specifically the Speaking from the Sacrum technique) is to your dating life—you’re still getting the warm, perfectly-cooked results, but in a smarter, more efficient way that saves you time, energy, and unnecessary emotional grease. More on Human Design in just a minute…
Instead of burning yourself out on endless situationships or overcomplicating love by interpreting mixed signals that are actually misalignments, the Speaking from the Sacrum framework helps you “air fry” your dating life—cut out the fluff, get straight to what nourishes you, and make the process lighter, healthier, and way more satisfying.
Speaking From the Sacrum (well, Sacral Center: the area of the body around the hips and lower belly) is a mindful, intentional technique derived from Human Design.
Human Design is a spiritually informed system that combines elements of astrology, the I Ching, Kabbalah, the chakra system, and quantum physics to give frameworks and for personal growth based on your energetic blueprint and self-understanding.
While I’m no expert on Human Design, I have learned this tool and used it in my own life. The Speaking From the Sacrum tool is suggested particularly to specific types in Human Design and guides you to trust your body’s immediate, instinctual response rather than overanalyzing or intellectualizing decisions. The sacrum (and the body for that matter) doesn’t speak to us or through us with words—it communicates through gut feelings, sounds, physical sensations, and energy shifts. Your sacral chakra (right around the belly button) has an instinctive “uh huh” or “uh, uh” response.
As a somatic therapist, I like this tool for all types of people because it encourages paying attention to the body’s wisdom through tuning into physical reactions, sensations, and signals to guide actions and responses. Instead of forcing an answer, we listen for that “uh-huh” (yes) or “uh-uh” (no)” that comes from deep within the body. It’s not about logic—it’s about responsiveness.
And, to be perfectly honest, this tool isn’t just for dating but for making decisions about pretty much anything.
What Speaking from the Sacrum Feels Like:
Feeling a full-body yes (expansion, excitement, a pull toward something).
Sensing a no (tightness, resistance, fatigue, or lack of enthusiasm).
Responding in the moment—not planning, not overthinking, just trusting the response that arises.
Listening for your sacral “yes” or “no” can be helpful in anything from choosing your soap to choosing whether to go on a second date with someone. Of course, sometimes, we may have a “yes” or a “no” that is misguided, but if we keep listening and paying attention, we will eventually be guided to the right answer and learn more about discernment, intuition, and how our body speaks to us.
For example, you may have an instinctive “yes” to a good smelling soap, but find over time that you have an allergic reaction to it or like another soap better. Likewise, you may initially be attracted to someone’s energy and then start to notice that they never listen when you talk and don’t ask you questions. While you still may like them, if you listen deeply, there is likely a small but powerful part of you that will start shifting and saying “uh-uh, I don’t like when they don’t listen to me.”
SACRAL IS SACRED….And Why It Matters in Love & Dating
When you tune into your sacral response, you’re no longer making decisions based on:
What you think you should want.
What society says is cool, attractive, or acceptable.
What looks good on paper.
Instead, you’re asking: Does this person’s energy light me up? Do I feel excited, drawn in, and alive around them? Or does something in me hesitate, contract, or feel drained?
Sacral energy doesn’t lie. If you have to convince yourself to like someone or you have to override your self-respect to be with them, your sacrum already gave you the answer.
In a mindful, intentional dating framework, we don’t just date with our heads—we date with our whole being. And if you’re a Generator or Manifesting Generator in Human Design, that means your sacrum (Sacral Center) is your ultimate compass for love (and other important decisions.)
Think of your sacral response like an internal air fryer—it’s a smarter, more efficient way to get results in dating. Instead of overcomplicating things or cooking up relationships that leave you feeling heavy and drained, your sacrum gives you an instant, instinctual knowing:
Yes: You feel energized, open, and drawn toward them—your body says “Uh-huh!” before your mind can even process why.
No: You feel resistance, hesitation, or even tired—your sacrum is tense and like, “Uh-uh,” even if they look good on paper.
Meh: No real reaction? That’s a no too—if your sacral response isn’t activated, it’s not for you.
Here’s the key: Your sacral response doesn’t explain itself—it just knows. But modern dating culture teaches us to override it with logic, social conditioning, and “shoulds.”
They check all the boxes, but you feel nothing? That’s your sacrum saying miss me with that.
You can’t stop thinking about them, but they don’t treat you well? That’s not a sacral yes—it’s a nervous system trap.
They’re not your usual type, but something about them feels magnetic? That’s your sacrum nudging you to explore - is this promise or pattern?
Sacral Dating = A More Intentional Love Life
This approach is about dating with awareness—not "vibing” without checking in or forcing connections that don’t feel right. When you trust your sacral response, you stop wasting time on lukewarm connections, feel energized rather than drained by your dating life, can make clear, aligned decisions without second-guessing, and are able to create a love life that actually feels good in your body.
Instead of treating dating like a logic puzzle, try treating it like a gut-driven adventure and a way to strengthen your intuition. The next time you’re deciding whether to text them back, go on another date, or take things deeper, don’t think—breathe, feel, and let your sacrum speak. It already knows the answer.
The Air Fryer I Swiped Right On
If you have an air fryer, think about your dating life next time you use it. If you don’t, but are inspired to find one that works for you, I can help. If dating has taught me anything, it’s that choosing wisely matters. That’s why I recommend the Fritaire Air Fryer: clean, safe, fume-free, pretty, and sturdy. Out of all the ones I tested, it was the least toxic (all BPA-free and Teflon-free, made of glass), had the least fumes and VOCs (measured by my AirThings View Plus monitor,) and had the fastest cooking times. Whether it’s partners or appliances, we deserve something that nourishes us—non-toxic, dependable, and actually good for you.
In terms of looks - I was initially thrown off by how different this one looks from other air fryers. However, after trying a few and settling on Fritaire, I love it. The white blends in with my walls and I barely notice it. The others I tried appeared to (or actually did) take up more space and were quite the presence on my countertop.
Did I mention the Fritaire air fryer has a self-cleaning feature? I put a little Branch Basics non-toxic plant-based cleaner in there with a few cups of water, and let it heat and stir the water. Then I give the basin a light scrub, and set it out to dry.
I use it weekly to bake squash, make toast, cook perfect sheet-pan gnocchi, heat leftovers, crisp up rice for my favorite salad, and more.
Cooking with an Air Fryer way and Speaking from the Sacrum are not about rushing. Like a microwave and oven show us, rushing often gives off toxic waves in the process. They are about going slow enough to feel and come to natural conclusions, while optimizing your time, energy, and life. No more settling for half-baked connections or drowning in the oven fumes of emotional exhaustion. Just clear, values-driven choices that make cooking – and love – feel effortless and right.

I love this perspective. 😊 It was a long journey to get to the place where I could trust my intuition and not ignore it.
The times I did ignore the tugs, the outcome was always the same, I would eventually figure out that it was not a match and that I shouldn’t have ignored it. 💪🏻 But with all practice, you get better each time with knowing and listening. 😊
